Otsucle is a crowdfunding site administered by the Organization For People With Universities started by University. Otsucle supports fundraising in fields such as research, education, and social contribution which are important for the future, with an emphasis on universities. We consider that the chief characteristic of humans and humanity is our ability to make and create things.

Crowdfunding is a mechanism for pooling the resources of many people to realize specific projects. It enables individuals with a common interest in research or enterprise that promises a better world and a brighter future to support this kind of project. We hope that various universities and regional entities will use this site for wide-ranging development of technology, society and regions, and we will support your initiatives.
Crowdfunding comprises two main models, purchase and donation.
It’s a way of supporting researchers by purchasing the goods and services (referred to as ‘return’) arising from their research and activities.
Researchers consider an appropriate return, and once the project is up and running, they deliver this return or some sort of service to their supporters.
This is a method that genuinely supports research and other activities.
If the recipient of donations belongs to an institution such as a National University that is eligible for income tax, local tax, or corporate tax exemptions, the donor enjoys an exemption on tax returns accompanied by a receipt issued by the institution. Otsucle works with tax-exempt organizations.
Researchers may send a thank you (referred to as a ‘gift’) such as an outline of their research.
For project
owners
We support people who have wonderful plans for contributing to society but are stymied by lack of funds, to find widespread encouragement, understanding and even fans of their initiative.
Researchers can present their projects clearly on the Otsucle website, and by appealing to many people (the crowd), they can gather support in the form of funding, paid with a credit card.
At the end of the application period, when support exceeding the target amount has been achieved, the project starts. At that time, the promised amount is withdrawn from supporters’ credit cards.
If the project doesn’t start, no payment is made.
Posting and pursuing a project is free of charge, but if the project gets started, a 20% fee is charged (20% of the final amount received, including credit card fees). (The fee may be changed by mutual agreement) To post a project, use the “Start a project” button on the top right.
For project
supporters
If you support a purchase-type project which meets its target amount, you can receive a return from the researcher commensurate with the amount of your support. Several types of return are available.
If you support a donation-type project which meets its target amount, you may receive a gift from the researcher. (Shown on the site).
You can receive a tax exemption on returns accompanied by a receipt issued by the institution to which the researcher belongs (if the institution falls under the relevant laws).
